About the position

The Family Physician Assistant role involves providing high-quality healthcare to patients of all ages in a friendly and energetic environment. The position requires examining patients, interpreting diagnostic tests, making diagnoses, and managing treatment plans under physician supervision. The practice operates across three locations: Frederick, Urbana, and Clarksburg.

Responsibilities

  • Examine patients to obtain information about their physical condition of all ages.
  • Interpret diagnostic test results for deviations from normal.
  • Make tentative diagnoses and decisions about management and treatment of patients.
  • Obtain, compile and record patient medical data, including health history, progress notes and results of physical exams.
  • Administer or order diagnostic tests.
  • Prescribe therapy or medication with physician approval.
  • Instruct and counsel patients about prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
