  • Provide skilled nursing care for incarcerated inmates in outpatient clinics, infirmaries, or specialized cell houses.
  • Document inmate medical records accurately and timely.

  • Participate in restraining inmates for medical reasons when necessary.
  • Observe and report the physical and emotional condition of inmates during triage and emergency situations.
  • Perform physical and emotional assessments of inmates during triage and sick-line situations.
  • Promote safety and security in the clinical environment through careful observation and control of sensitive items.
  • Operate clinical equipment as required by the assigned work unit.
  • Attend training programs, including self-defense training, as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current, valid license as a Registered Nurse from the Colorado Board of Nursing or any state participating in the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
  • Ability to effectively treat inmate patients in various settings.
  • Ability to follow patient confidentiality standards.
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations involving inmates.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend the English language.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent discernment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to details.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts.
